New Year, new food. That's right: I've made a resolution. I will cook twenty new recipes by the end of the year. I'll let you know how they go, and post photos when I can (or when I remember!) The Only Thing Better is My Grandma Herself

Okay, everyone. This one hits close to home. Some of you have had this delicious piece of family history. If you haven't, the cakes are $30 and I can have one on your doorstep first thing tomorrow morning! My great-grandmother's chocolate cake recipe. Designed especially for my great-grandfather, using her saved up sugar ration tickets during World War II. Now that's LOVE, and it passes right on down to you, from me. Big meeting? Someone's birthday? Shoot me a line, I'll get you a cake. Thanks, Mama Helena! You are in my heart, always.

Lagniappe Gourmet Dinner Parties

LG does dinner parties! Here are a few photos of our last one- hosted by yours truly with some of my best friends. On the menu? A delicious summer salad with grilled asparagus, candied pecans and fresh summer strawberries. Prosciutto wrapped lamb burgers with a hint of balsamic and organic sweet basil. Key lime cheesecake with a dark chocolate crumb crust. Hungry yet?
